Have you been wondering how to find your style so that what you wear on the outside matches who you are on the inside? This is called your style personality, and understanding yours will revolutionize how you shop and help you avoid buyers remorse. But what gives an outfit style personality? Accessories!! Any basic outfit (like jeans and a white top) can be styled in different ways to show off your personality just by changing the accessories you wear with it.
Now we understand what style personality is, but it can still be hard to find the words to define your style. Let’s start with a simple choice between “this” or “that” – you should be able to say which you like best, and then identifying your style is simply a matter of seeing which things you like most consistently. These patterns of liking the same or similar styles over and over indicate that they are part of your style personality.
So let’s see if we can identify your style personality based on your choices below:
Which of these accessory combinations would you most want to pair over jeans and a white top?

And which of these groups of words best describes the style you gravitate toward?
Which of these outfits do you like best?

Which type of shoe do you love?
Finally, where do you most like to shop?
Now tally your answers to find your style personality below:
If you chose mostly 1s, you are a Creative! You can go into a vintage store, find the most unique piece, add it to the outfit you’re wearing, and love the new look you’ve just created. The more unique, artsy, or different something is, the better. Who cares if someone else doesn’t like it – as long as it makes you smile, it was worth finding. You dance to the beat of your own drum, and have so much fun doing it.
If you chose mostly 2s, you are a Fashionista! If you can walk into a room feeling like a rockstar, you know you’re wearing the right thing. You’re always looking for the latest trend, but it must be high fashion. It doesn’t matter where you shop; you can go into any store and put together an outfit that works and looks fabulous. You have the ability to up-level the style of any outfit because of how you accessorize it.
If you chose mostly 3s, you are a Natural! For you, the most important element of your clothing is the fiber. You love organic, natural materials (cotton, wool, linen, etc.) that make you feel comfortable. You also have discerning taste and prefer streamlined, simple styles in harmoniously neutral colors. Minimalistic by nature, you love style that is luxurious, monochromatic and eco-conscious.
If you chose mostly 4s, you are a Classic! You love tailored pieces that are not overly styled. While you love to shop, you know what you like and continually return to those reliable stores you can count on to have those special, classic pieces you love. Style, to you, is in the elegance and craftsmanship of the design. Sometimes simple is the most stunning.
Discovering your style personality is a process – you might not know yours right away and need to try on a few different ones to see if they “fit.” But try not to blend them – otherwise, you will not have a defined personal style. If you really can’t choose just one, have a main category and then a sub-category. For example, I’m mostly a Classic because I love tailoring and refinement, but I love natural luxurious fibers like a Natural so I try to find pieces that fit both style personalities. But my overall style is first and foremost Classic.
The next step to having confidence in your personal style is getting the actual fit right. This includes knowing:
